You know that is a great question,on the phone it says 2.0 MP,and you are correct most of these are 1.3MP.What I can tell you is that is takes descent pictures,however I don’t know the formula or trick in really finding out.We like to have acurate answers,but in this case I can only go by what the camera says and personal experience.Thankyou for your question.
